As you surmise, we have no post doctoral opportunities for someone with
a background in neurophysiology.  In fact, we don't have any post doctoral
opportunities.

Your best bet in switching fields would seem to be at a place that does
both computer work and neurophysiology.  At Stanford, you might try
Professor Karl Pribram, Psychology Department.  Another place is Cal Tech,
and you might also try Dr. David Marr, Artificial Intelligence Laboratory,
M.I.T.
